Opening day at the State Fair of Texas was a bright,
beautiful day in Texas with lots of good things to
eat, thousands of flowers, pools of shimmering water
and... |

Of course, lots of pretty girls including our very own Texas
Princess. |

Faith really liked this little sports car and wanted to
drive it back to OU. It was a "Concept Car" and had a really
pretty price tag also. |

Our Texas Tech Cowgirl, Allison and our OU Cowgirl. Faith
try on some cowboy hats during out trek thru the State Fair
Grounds. |

State Fair. |

The girls have to visit the Midway to try their had at
winning a stuffed animal. Allison tries her hand first
at knocking down 3 plastic gasses with a rubber ball
shot out of an air gun. |

The girls had a great time playing this game and I think
they probably got "several" free games from these guys.
They told Faith and Allison to come back in their
evening gown and crown and try to win again and they
just "might" get one of the Big Dogs hanging around the
stand. |

Oh man!!! Who can pass up "Fried Oreo Cookies" and a
"Fried Snickers Bar". I think they will "fry" anything
for you here at the fair. |

Allison got the "Fried Oreo Cookies" and Faith got the
"Fried Snickers Bar". Don't worry... They shared with
everybody. |

We needed a little rest and some shade so we went to the
"Birds of the Wild" show where they had hawks, eagles,
condors, storks, parrots, owls and other rare species of
birds from around the world. Most of them performed
tricks., for money of course. Faith and Allison needed
to get a closer look at this huge owl. |

Allison even made a new "Dragonfly Friend" at the show.
I hope he didn't become one of the birds dinner later on
that afternoon. |
