THURSDAY
morning started off with a Miss America Press Conference at
the Planet Hollywood Hotel to announce the Quality of Life
winners. The overall winner and recipient of a $6,000.00
Scholarship is Miss Nevada, Caleche Manos who, since the age
of 17 has been working with “MADD and the Prevention of
Drinking and Driving” |

Pictured here
with Miss Nevada are (l) the 1st runner-up Kylie Williams,
Miss Florida who is the winner of a $4,000.00 Scholarship
with the platform of “Realistic Support For Our Troops, Inc”
and the 2nd runner-up (r) Makenna Smith, Miss Oklahoma who
is the winner of a $2,000.00 Scholarship with a platform of
“Seat Belts Save Lives, What’s Holding You Back”.

Immediately
after the press conference for the Quality of Life awards
there was a second press conference with eight former Miss
America Titleholders and the current Miss America Lauren
Nelson. Pictures on the stage after the press conference are

asking all the Miss America titleholders to compare the
former system to the new system and how or if they would
change anything in the current system. |
